Football Time on TSR schedule change

Football Time on TSR

First up, I want to thank everyone who has listened to my show. It’s been a blast talking Vols weeknights on Tennessee Sports Radio for nearly nine months—and that’s largely because of you all. The kind words and responses I consistently get from listeners mean more than you know.

As you’ve seen the last few months, it’s been nearly impossible for me to keep a five day show schedule. There’s a reason other beat writers/magazine publishers/website owners don’t have their own daily radio shows. As I found out this year, it’s just too much to juggle. I’ve worked at least 80 hour weeks since May and that has taken a toll on my health and both my work here and on our print publications.

That said, I’m not going away, just pulling back to a more manageable schedule. I appreciate the folks at TSR giving me a start in radio and working out a show plan that will allow me to keep doing what I love—and that’s talking Vol sports with you all every week. A special thanks also goes out to Seth Stokes for showing me the radio ropes and helping me get comfortable behind the mic.

Starting next week, Football Time on Tennessee Sports Radio will be LIVE Monday and Friday nights on TSR. This schedule will allow us to recap weekend action and look ahead to the week’s events on Monday plus give us a chance to preview all the upcoming weekend games on Friday.

This trimmed back show calendar also means I’ll be able to deliver consistently better content and will have more time to grow this site and our print publications. We’ll be publishing the 27th edition of Football Time in Tennessee this May while the 50th edition of Kick-Off will be out this summer. I’m hard at work on those currently.

We launched this site just over a year ago and the number of folks who’ve read our work has been frankly overwhelming. We’re the only Knoxville media outlet to have our own print publication, website, and radio show, and plans are in the works to continue growing our brand into other areas in the future.

THANK YOU for your loyalty! I look forward to a banner year in all areas of our business and none of it would be possible without you.
